چکیده

Couple stresses because of magnetic particles additives on the lubrication performance a journal bearing system was embraced and scrutinized in current examinations theoretically. The governing equations Reynolds (pressure field), energy (temperature heat conduction field through solids) are coupled solved instantaneously term temperature viscosity. After these set equation pressure is obtained, it used to obtain characteristic. It found that load currying capacity maximum increased due employing fluids along with couple stresses, as well side leakage flow friction coefficient decreased. can be also concluded better lubricant than fluid only (l = 0), Newtonian fluids, stress (ʎ 0).

Thermal Effects on Hydrodynamic Journal Bearings Lubricated by Magnetic Fluids with Couple Stresses

Based on the momentum and continuity equations for ferrofluid under an applied magnetic field, assuming linear behavior for the magnetic material of the ferrofluid, and using carrying current concentric finite wire magnetic field model, the magnetic force was calculated. A modified Reynolds equation is obtained. It is simultaneously solved with the energy equation numerically by the finite diff...

Stability Analysis of Three-Lobe Journal Bearing Lubricated with a Micropolar Fluids

Abstract—In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of a threelobe journal bearing lubricated with micropolar fluids are determined by the linear stability theory. Lubricating oil containing additives and contaminants is modelled as micropolar fluid. The modified Reynolds equation is obtained using the micropolar lubrication theory .The finite difference technique has been used to determine the...

Three - Dimensional Thermohydrodynamic Morton Effect Analysis — Part II : Parametric Studies

This paper presents simulation results corresponding with the theoretical Morton effect model explained in Part I, where the 3D finite element models of bearing, shaft, and fluid film are adopted. In addition, it explains how thermal bow induced imbalance force develops in the spinning journal with time and how the vibration level is affected by the thermal bow vector. Shaft asymmetric thermal ...

Thermohydrodynamic Performance of a Journal Bearing with 3d-surface Roughness and Fluid Inertia Effects

This theoretical work describe the combined influence of surface roughness, thermal and fluid-inertia effects on performance characteristics of hydrodynamic journal bearing. The average Reynolds equation that modified to include the surface roughness, viscosity variation due to temperature rise in lubricant fluid-film and fluid-inertia is used to obtain pressure field in the fluid-film. The mat...

Determination of Thermal Resistance in Three-Dimensional Analysis of Micro-Channel Heat Sink with Non - Newtonian Fluids

Micro-Channel Heat Sink is a heat exchanger which is used to control the temperature of electronic devices with high heat flux. A comprehensive thermal model for the micro-channels should include three dimensional conduction analysis in the solid body together with three dimensional developing fluid flow as well as heat transfer analyses in the fluid section. This paper reports on a research ...
